A Personalized and Intimate Victoria Wedding Reception at Perro Negro

Some weddings just feel like home.

On a calm spring Sunday in Victoria, we had the joy of supporting S&D as they celebrated their marriage with a cozy reception tucked inside the candlelit charm of Perro Negro. Their weekend began with a meaningful traditional ceremony the day before, and wrapped with an evening full of board games, polaroid snapshots, laughter, and donuts.

From the very beginning, S&D envisioned something relaxed and personal, a celebration that reflected who they are and what they care about: comfort, community, and creating space for connection.

Personal Touches and Heartfelt Design

The reception was hosted at Perro Negro, a stunning downtown Victoria venue with exposed brick, warm wood tones, and a lived-in kind of glow. With just under 40 guests, the room felt intimate and lively in equal measure.

Rather than a traditional sit-down structure, the evening flowed like an elevated dinner party:

  • A playful donut wall featuring their favourite flavours
  • A thoughtfully styled polaroid guestbook
  • Board games at tables for easy laughs and laid-back mingling
  • Curated signage and candlelight to bring warmth to every corner
  • Signature drinks as a late-night treat (because espresso martinis = always a yes)

Flow Over Formality

S&D made intentional choices to keep the evening stress-free and grounded in joy. They greeted guests with open arms, shared heartfelt toasts during dinner, and kicked off dancing with a first dance that felt perfectly them.

We loved seeing their vision come to life in ways both big and small, from the way guests lingered at the guestbook to how easily the night shifted from intimate to energetic.

This reception was a beautiful reminder that weddings don’t have to follow tradition to feel meaningful. S&D created something that fit them entirely, blending celebration with softness, and personal details with a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere.

We can't wait to share more from their gallery soon.
