A March Wedding in Full Bloom: A Meaningful Butchart Gardens Celebration

Some weddings just feel like sunshine.

In early March - on a day that surprised us all with golden light and clear skies - we had the joy of kicking off our wedding season with K&G, a wonderful couple from Texas who chose Victoria for a deeply personal reason. For them, this wasn’t just a destination wedding-it was a heartfelt return to a place rooted in family, beauty, and connection.

Their wedding at Butchart Gardens was everything a spring celebration should be: intimate, elegant, and bursting with sentiment. K&G began the day with a sweet first look in the quiet corners of the Prelude Garden, soaking in a moment just for the two of them before joining their guests for a meaningful ceremony amidst blooming branches and the trickle of fountains.

From the very beginning, it was clear that this wedding was about more than the details - it was about experience. The joy, the laughter, the intentional choices that brought everyone together in this stunning place. The micro-wedding package at Butchart Gardens couldn’t have been a more perfect fit, and it was such a pleasure to collaborate with their team to bring K&G’s vision to life.

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed an elegant dinner in the Butchart Dining Room - refined, relaxed, and completely fitting for the natural beauty surrounding them. The evening then transitioned into a completely different vibe as the celebration moved to Church and State Wines for an afterparty that can only be described as a true dance party. Great music, a packed dance floor, and joyful energy carried late into the night.

There were so many delightful, personal touches woven throughout the day. A LEGO guest book that had guests smiling as they built their own memories. A LEGO-themed cake topper with intricate sugar details that had us all pulling out our cameras. The sweetest combination of whimsical and meaningful - just like the couple themselves.

And speaking of the couple - K glowed in a beautifully tailored gown that moved effortlessly through the gardens, while G looked sharp and radiant in a classic deep blue suit. From golden-hour portraits in the gardens to their high-energy party at Church and State, every moment was anchored in joy, intention, and love.

It was an honour to plan and coordinate such a heart-forward day. These two made it all feel easy - fun-loving, kind, and so grounded in what really mattered.

Vendor Team Shoutout
